About Farmer Ray
My philosophy is that you must ‘Stay Sharp’. You really always need to be learning.
In the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey – the 7th habit is to Sharpen the Saw. It’s all about grinding away at the things that drive you. Sharpening your mind and educating yourself so you are fully equipped to overcome any challenge you face.
I strongly believe in learning different ways of overcoming problems from inspiring individuals and sharing that knowledge with the world. I believe in working together to collaborate and solve problems that are seemingly impossible… because together we are better.
My mission is to create a community which inspires moments of collaboration where we can all learn new ways of thinking which leads to new solutions and a better world to live in.
“No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” That is my life quote and my approach to all aspects of my life.
I believe that if you are doing something that you truly care about, then everything else will fall into place. When I am working with the right people on projects that align with my ‘whys’ like; improving the world, starting a movement, teaching and motivating, I am fulfilled in all areas of my life.
Each year I choose a theme of the year that brings a focus to my life and goals. My word of the year for 2017 is IMPACT. In 2016 it was Massive Action and in 2018 it will be Change.
Impact for me means aligning myself with companies, projects and people who are working to make a positive impact on the world around them. This is important to me as I strongly believe in the power of collaboration and education in solving social issues our society faces.
It’s easy enough to recognise the issues at hand, however, have reflected and asked myself “what am I doing about it?” This year I have made the commitment to be more socially conscious and work with like-minded people to make a positive impact on society.
I want to leave a legacy behind that reflects my strong beliefs in collaboration and education in improving the world around us and enjoy the journey every step of the way.
I challenge you to think about your own legacy – what will you leave behind?
Meet Farmer Ray
A few years ago I took pause and reflected on my busy lifestyle and evaluated whether I wanted to continue living to the grinding rhythm of city life. I began to question why I subscribed to always being so busy and stressed out as being normal. I wanted a better life for myself, one that was more balanced, relaxed and positive so that I could thrive.
Once I realised that the fast-paced lifestyle wasn’t something I wanted for my long term future, deciding to put the brakes on and slow-down was quite an easy decision to make. I purchased a rural property and now spend my weekends lifestyle farming. As a result of my changed lifestyle, I have also become interested in minimalism, down-scaling, alternative living, sustainable farming, and the beauty of mother nature. Go on look outside the window, it’s beautiful.
If you are also sick of the grind of the busy city life and want to make positive changes to your lifestyle, follow me on the journey of my rural and relaxed lifestyle. I’ll be sharing any projects I work on related to the farm as well as my experiences delving into my new extremely rewarding lifestyle.
